2020 LWML Atlantic District Convention

You may be wondering...

Q: Will I receive a refund of my registration fee?
A: Anyone who already registered for the convention may submit a Refund
Request Form.

Q: What about the Mission Grant Proposals? Will we still vote for them?
A: Yes, delegates will still vote for Mission Grants. Details on how we will
accomplish that will be forthcoming. All Voting Delegates should still, and are
required to, submit their Delegate Certification forms to Deaconess Phyllis
Yee at their earliest convenience.

Q: When will we have elections for the open officer positions?
A: Details on the election process for officers will be forthcoming.

Q: Is the Friday, June 5, Servant Event also canceled?
A: Yes.

Q: I started purchasing items for the Servant Event. What should I do with them?
A: The items may be brought to our Fall Retreat at Tuscarora. We will assemble
the school kits sometime during the retreat. The completed kits will be
delivered directly to the school after the retreat. A list of items requested
appears below.

Q: When is the Fall Retreat?
A: The Fall Retreat is the weekend October 16-18, 2020. More information about
the retreat may be found in this newsletter in the Upcoming Events section.

Q: Besides the retreat, will our LWML Atlantic District be able to gather this year
now that we cannot gather for Convention?

A: Yes. A Life in the SON Celebration Event is scheduled for Saturday,
September 26, 2020, at Mill Neck Manor in Glen Cove. Cecile Walker,
Convention Committee Chair, has agreed to assist in the planning.

Q: Is the Miles for Mites 5K Event also canceled?
A: Yes. We encourage societies to plan Miles for Mites Walkathons and other
Mites Challenges sometime in the future during the 2020-2022 Biennium.

The New LIFE School and Children’s Service (Family LIFE) provides a place for
unaccompanied minors until they can be reunited with family members who
reside in the United States. The children are cared for in their basic needs and
taught how to survive in a foreign land. LWML Atlantic District joins them as we
create school kits with items not only to support them in their educational
endeavors but also with spiritual encouragement.
Please make sure items are new.


Reading books: Arch Books are great and may be ordered through Concordia Publishing House (
